What types of cartridges do you accept?
All cartridges accepted are listed on our pricelist, which can be accessed by clicking on the pricelist tab above. We accept many original name brand inkjet, laser toner, fax, and copy cartridges.

Do all the cartridges I send have to be on your price list?
The minimums on our pricelist must be met before shipping, however, once your minimums on our pricelist have been met, you may send additional inkjets, cell phones, laptops, tablets and iPods that aren’t on our list. Laser toners need to be the original brands on our price list. At this time, we do not accept generic, remanufactured, replacement, or office store compatible toners.

What if I don’t use any of the items on your list? Can I still sign up?
As much as Advantage would love to be a full-service electronic waste recycler, we are unable to offer our program if you don’t meet the minimum requirements on our pricelist to ship. We want to encourage recycling so try the following options of disposal:
- Check the original toner box for pre-paid labels provided by the manufacturer.
- Get on website of manufacturer to see if they will allow you to print a pre-paid shipping label.
- Contact your local waste management for recycling options in your city.

Do you accept remanufactured or compatible cartridges?
Inkjets: Advantage pays for a few remanufactured inkjets and they are listed at the very bottom of the inkjet pricelist page. You may send additional inkjets that aren’t on the list once your minimums on our list have been met, but there is no payment for inkjets that aren’t on our list.
Laser Toners: Advantage does not accept remanufactured, compatible, office store replacement toners.

How do I tell if a cartridge is remanufactured?
When determining if a cartridge is a remanufactured or compatible, check the cartridge label. Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) like Hewlett Packard, Canon and Lexmark place their label bearing the model number, directly on the cartridge. The remanufactured cartridges will usually have different stickers on them and the manufacturer’s name won’t match the names on our list. Such names could be office supply store names or other company names other than HP, LEX or Canon.
Other ways to spot a remanufactured/compatible cartridge it to look on the box &/or cartridge for words and phrases such as, “cartridge used in HP…”, compatible with…, Premium compatible, cartridge replaces…”, and “replacement for…”
If you do not find your cartridge listed or need help determining what the cartridge is, e-mail a digital photo to info@advantagecartridge.com and we will help in the determination and/or give you other options for recycling the cartridge.
You may send any remanufactured inkjets, however we do not pay for all of them- so please do not count them toward your 20 inkjet minimum.

Why doesn't Advantage Cartridge accept all laser toners for recycling?
Advantage Cartridge collects items that can be turned into remanufacturing companies that refurbish and resell them. It is a consumer driven industry, so demand determines the items that are paid for.

How do I properly recycle laser toners that your company doesn't pay for?
- Check the original toner box for pre-paid labels provided by the manufacturer.
- Get on website of manufacturer to see if they will allow you to print a pre-paid shipping label.
- Contact your local waste management for recycling options in your city.

Do you accept tubes, bottles, or ribbons?
Advantage doesn’t accept tubes, toner bottles, or ribbons.

Do you buy new/unused/overstock cartridges?
Full inkjets in sealed wrapper are paid double our empty price if they are not more than 1 year over expiration. Expired inkjets are paid our empty price. Look on the side of the box for expiration date. If you can’t find the expiration date, send the inkjet in and our trained warehouse staff will make the determination and you will be paid appropriately.
New toners are paid triple the empty price as long as they are not more than 3 years over expiration. If your toner is over expiration, we pay the empty price on our list. Most expirations are marked on the original equipment boxes. If you can’t find an expiration, send the toner in your shipment and our trained warehouse staff will make the determination and you will be paid appropriately.

How many items do I collect before shipping?
- Inkjets: You must send a minimum of 20-100 (on our current pricelist) per shipping label.
- Laser Toners: You must send a minimum of 10 or more (on our current pricelist) per shipping label.
- Cell Phones/PDA's: If sending a combination of inkjets and toners you may send any number of phones. If you are sending ONLY cell phones, you must send a minimum of 10 per shipping label.
- Laptops 1 or more on our current pricelist.
- Tablets 1 or more on our current pricelist.
- iPods: 10 or more on our current pricelist, per shipping label
- (When sending a combination of cartridges on our current price list, send 20 or more.)

Does Advantage Cartridge pay all shipping costs?
Yes, Advantage pays all shipping costs provided shipping/packing instructions are followed and the requested minimums are met. Laser toners must be original equipment manufacturers brands, not office store compatible or remanufactured brands and be found on our current pricelist. If minimums are not met, a percentage will be deducted from your recycling check to cover the additional shipping costs.
Please do not allow box size exceeds UPS guidelines of 79" L+W+H.

Do I need to supply my own boxes to ship?
Yes, please recycle and use your own boxes for shipping. Please use boxes no larger than 79 total inches when adding length + width + height.

| Payment |

When should I expect payment?
Payment, including an itemized purchase order and shipping labels, should be received on or around 30 days from the date Advantage receives your shipment. Please check the database for date we receive your shipment. Within 30 days, your check total and the date we process your recycling order will be posted on your online account.

What do I do if I don't receive payment around 30 days after I ship?
Check your online database to see if your shipment qualified for payment. If you don’t see a date and amount of earnings, or a note stating no payment will be made because shipping requirements weren’t met, call customer service at 1-800-706-9941 ext 101.

What if I have a discrepancy in my recycling earnings?
First check the date on the pricelist against the date on your return form. If the dates differ, the pricelist has changed and you have received current prices. Check the following:
- Toner not on the pricelist
- Didn't send minimum quantity
- Damage

How can I lock in to your current online pricing?
Prices change the first business day of each month.
You get paid the pricing of the month Advantage receives your cartridges.
For example, if you ship on January 27th and Advantage receives your shipment on February 1st, you receive February pricing.
You can also log on to your online account to view the date Advantage received your package/s.

| Cell Phone Recycling |

Do you accept all cell phones?
All cell phones are accepted even if they are broken and not paid for.
|

Do you pay for all cell phones? (Price List)
- Broken cell phones do not qualify for payment. A phone is considered broken when it is in pieces.
- We pay .25 for all phones not on our pricelist.
- We pay at least .25 for damaged phones. Some phones receive higher pricing and will be listed on pricelist
- All non-broken cell phones that aren't on the pricelist qualify toward the minimums needed to ship.

Do you accept accessories (chargers, etc.)
Yes, but they are optional. You will still get paid if accessories are not included.
